Automated assembly lines
- Robot workstations
- Rotary indexing assembly machines
- Transfer systems
- Image processing for quality assurance
- Intelligent feed systems
- Devices for seaming and bonding operations
In Germany, assembly systems are in general marked by a high degree of automation. The degree of automation at international sites depends on various parameters, such as meeting customer requirements, the relevant number of parts and the wages and salaries. To produce metal components and metal assemblies, for example, the following are used:
- Bonding: manually, automatically with handling systems or robots, including feed
- Welding: inert gas welding of steel and aluminium with robots or devices, laser welding, capacitive discharge welding (KES), resistance welding
- Unions: indented rivets, circular rivets, clinches, screws, clips
- Automatic quality monitoring systems (integrated in assembly systems): measuring stations for torque, evenness, movement and unlocking force, camera monitoring for presence of parts and dimensions, laser length measurement
